Contributions from Vincent Caron

Vincent generously provided petrographic images of the Plio-Pleistocene Te Aute Gruop cool-water limestones, New Zealand.

Vincent is an Assoc Professor in geology and researcher in carbonates based at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, France.

PhD Waikato University, New Zealand

He is also a member of the Basins Resources Reservoirs research group – (The UniLaSalle) that investigates the development of sedimentary basins, reservoirs and fossil and renewable energy sources (hydrocarbons, geothermal energy and water).

Most of the images presented in the Cool water carbonates petrology Atlas formed part of his PhD research on Te Aute limestones at Waikato University.

Model are representational descriptions are written in different languages - diagrammatic, descriptive, mathematical, and conceptual. They commonly contain variables and dimensionless quantities that permit quantitative analysis of the physical systems the models represent.
